~ Things-to-Do and Sights-to-See ~
Longbeach Clifftop Retreat is situated 10 minutes drive north of Batemans Bay, which is situated in the South Coast region of the state of New South Wales, Australia.
The town is located adjacent to the Princes Highway (Highway 1) about 280 kilometres (170 mi) from Sydney and 760 km (470 mi) from Melbourne. Canberra is located about 151 km (94 mi) to the west of Batemans Bay, via the Kings Highway. The Clyde River empties here into the Sea. It is the closest seaside town to Canberra, making Batemans Bay a popular holiday destination for residents of Australia’s National Capital. Geologically, it is situated in the far southern reaches of the Sydney Basin. Local industries include oyster farming, forestry, eco-tourism and retail services.
While Batemans Bay is the largest on the coast south of Nowra, it maintains its small town atmosphere and welcomes its visitors with its fabulous estuary location, country hospitality and charm, an unspoilt natural environment and with attractions and facilities for tourists of all ages and preferences. In addition to its own attractions, ‘the Bay’ is well located for driving, trekking or undemanding walks in the Clyde Valley and the spectacular mountainous national parks that protect its sources. Batemans Bay and its neighbouring area boast some of the most spectacular and unspoiled coastline in New South Wales.

Get walking directions along the road (The Park is about 2kms from our Retreat) A much nicer way to walk to the Park though, is across the clifftop reserve and through the bush and then, along the sand of Maloneys Beach (hit the 3D button on Google Maps to provide an aerial view of the walk).
Steep slopes close to the sea combined with the moderately fertile soil have allowed the development of extensive areas of tall moist forest and rainforest in the park. An incredible 44km of dramatic coastline, pristine beaches and a stunning backdrop for a nature escape all year round. The Park offers swimming, bushwalking, 4xwheel driving, bird watching, fishing and an Aboriginal cultural reserve.
